I wasn't sure where to throw this but it looks interesting so I'll throw here since it is a book as well.
Columbia Pictures is releasing a film entitled Moneball based on the book of the same name by Michael Lewis. The premise of the book is a look at the Oakland A's strategy of applying value investing to produce a winning team.
I haven't read the book (and the movie hasn't come out yet) but I've read two of Michael Lewis' other books which were both excellent: Liar's Poker (which is a semi-autobiographical book upon his experience as a salesman for Salomon Brother's and the emergence of a massive mortgage bond industry) and The Big Short (which looks at the recent financial crisis from the perspective of some of the investors who figured it out and bet against it… most of whom were value oriented investors.) Both were good entertaining and educational reads.
