Yes excel does cache data, which is why it's a good idea to close and restart with your computer.

I am not seeing it now. I don't know what was the cause for my previous problem. I do have this observation. If I leave the spreadsheet open and enter a ticker twice with some research on other tickers in between, the results come back much faster the second time around. Does Excel cache the data on the tickers? If it is, then I have a theory on why I observed different results on brcm and BRCM.

I have the most up to date v20100821 valuation spreadsheet. I found that for some of the stocks, the valuation differed if I entered the stock symbol in capitalized letters and not in capitalized letters. For example, the results for BRCM and brcm are different. The problem for this particular stock is that different numbers are pulled for the cash flow statement depending on whether the symbol is capitalized or not. Please look into this.
