I don't see the connection all that well but apparently it did the trick. It appears to me that the add-in uses IE8 to go to smartmoney to pull the data. And if the cookies are set in such a way that it re-directs to the mobile version of the site then all bets are off w.r.t to the spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet works now and it's quite a delight already.

Thanks.

If you use Internet Explorer (NOT firefox or chrome) and go to smartmoney.com does it load a mobile site?

To fix the problem of Internet Explorer 8 defaulting to the mobile
browser version of some websites, follow these steps to uninstall the
'Creative Software AutoUpdate' program:

  1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  2. From the Control Panel window, click Uninstall a program. (If your Control Panel view is in Classic View, then click on Programs and Features)
  3. Select the program called Creative Software AutoUpdate and then click Uninstall.
  4. Once you've successfully uninstalled Creative Software AutoUpdate, open up Internet Explorer 8.
  5. Click on the Tools menu, and then click Delete Browsing History…
  6. Make sure Temporary Internet files and History is checked, then click the Delete button.
  7. Wait a few minutes for the deletion to complete, then close Internet Explorer and reopen it.
  8. Browse to a site that was defaulting to the mobile browser version
(like Mashable.com) and you should now see the regular website (if you
still see the mobile version, just hit the Refresh button in Internet
    Explorer and it should change).
  9. That's it.

Then run the spreadsheet again and it should work.

I am using Excel 2003 and trying to use your premium spreadsheet for Stock Valuation. Before I proceed to describe the problem that I am facing I should let you know that the other two spreadsheets in the package do work for me.

I have the SMF Add-In installed and enabled. I believe my macros are enabled or else the other two spreadsheets would not work. Basically, I enter a ticker symbol when prompted for the ticker and the spreadsheet starts to calculate. However, after it is done only the price is updated. Everything else is undefined.

In the Dashboard worksheet, the Balance Sheet table is fully populated but all the other tables have a few fields missing or zeroed out. For instance, the DCF and Graham formula are missing in the Valuations table. The EPV worksheet appears to be fully populated. I am not certain if all the data is accurate. StockDB seems to be fully populated.

The following worksheets have no data in them:

Statements

Statements%

Ratios

DCF Valuation

Graham Valuation

Net Net

PioAtlZ

Competitors

Charts

What other data can I provide you so that you can debug this error? I would really like for the workbook to work. It appears very promising. I like value investing as it makes the most sense to me and would like to use your spreadsheet to achieve my goals.
