I just signed up to post on the forums? Will I receive the updated spreadsheet through email?

Yes. The file that you downloaded is outdated.
To download the new files, you have to sign up with your email to receive the list of available downloads.

I'm new to this forum and your website. I am in the process of evaulating and hopefully purchasing your tools. I downloaded the free spreadsheet OSV_Graham_Formula_Spreadsheet-Basic.xls and installed SMF plugins but I see VALUE errors in the income statement section only. I've tried this on two different computers. I read through the forums and the install guide and don't see any resolution. Have you changed the location of source?

If you still get the #value, i suspect that advfn is giving you wrong numbers.
But there is usally a single point of failure. If you can track which cell is the root cause of the error and then replace that cell with a unmber and press refresh, I'm sure it will work.
Remember to always keep a back up of the spreadsheet in case you accidently save over it.

Jae,
Yes, I'm living outside of the US right now (in Canada actually). I went to advfn.com but it didn't redirect me to ca.advnfn.com. However, I tried doing the URL modification in the code, and it worked! Thanks for your super prompt reply
And it also miraculously fixed the problem with clicking the Help button too (not a macro issue)
Just to clarify: now that this issue is solved, if I still get #Value or ERROR errors (which I don't for most stocks right now), it's due to some data retrieval issue that's related to financial stocks or poor record keeping by the sites right? (eg. for the ticker CQB, I get #VALUE errors for the NCAV, Total Net Reprod. Cost, and EPV valuations… do you?)

hi there
1) can you recover the content? and can you run it? If it works, nothing to worry about.
I think I may seriously have to consider upgrading to windows 7 and office 2010…
2) are you outside the US?
If you are do the following.
Type http://www.advfn.com in your browser. If you get redirected to another URL such as ca.advfn.com do the following.
- Right click on the any of the tab and click "view code". This will bring up a window with code in it.
- On the left side, navigate to a folder called RCH_Stock_market_function
- Open up the subfolder called "modules"
- right click "modCreateComment" and then click on the main body window
- press CTRL+F to find
- select Search Current Project
- search for http://www.advfn.com and replace with the URL with ca.advfn.com. That is, the URL should look like http://ca.advfn.com
- Press next and do it one more time.
3) do you have macros enabled?

Hello Jae, just purchased the premium package, and currently playing around with the spreadsheets right now. First, wanna say your spreadsheets are pretty awesome.
Anyway, got a few questions about OSV_Stock_Valuation-v20100821.xlsm:
1) Right when I open it, Excel pops out the message:
"Excel found unreadable content in 'OSV_Stock_Valuation-v20100821.xlsm'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes." Should I be concerned about this at all? Btw, I am using Excel 2007.
2) I'm having trouble retrieving data and I'm not sure if it's just because of bad timing or if I'm doing something incorrectly. I tried entering in JNJ and KO and had some cells with #Value and ERROR errors. I've attached links to screenshots below (dunno how useful it is):

http://i54.tinypic.com/15mgqon.jpg
3) Also, I get a "Run-time error '75' Could not find the specified object." whenever I accidentally click the Help button (next to the Enter Ticker and Refresh buttons)
Thanks
