James Chanos is a well known short seller who is also very fundamentally minded. He takes a more or less "short and hold" strategy to investing. The following two articles are statements he made to the SEC and the House of Representatives regarding financial regulations (particularly in regard to hedge funds and short selling, respectively).

The interesting thing in the articles (from an investment perspective) is that he describes his process by which he decided to short Enron before the company went under.

Statement to the SEC regarding Hedge Funds

Statement to the House of Representatives

Again, both articles detail how he and his firm used their investment detective skills to uncover something wrong with Enron and make some money in the process.
