does make sense because ceo's that love their job are willing to be paid less.

All the great innovator CEO's fall into the low pay category while the business CEO's (the one that succeed the innovator CEO's) fall into the high paid category.

Dell, Starbucks, AMZN, Berkshire, AAPL all perfect examples.

The researchers found a negative relationship between CEO pay (in particular, incentive pay – e.g. stock options, etc) and stock returns.
