always happy to meet like minded people so let me know if you are going to be in the area.
I didn't realize because this site attracts similar people, but outside of this site, I'm lucky if I meet one value investor out of every 100 people that I meet. Value investors are that rare.

I live in San Diego, always like to meet folks.
I also get up to Seattle/Bellvue area couple times a year, I'll have to try to contact Jae next time :)
Cheers, let me know if anybody is vacationing in SD, we have two young kids – fair warning or playdate opportunity depending on your family situations!

Hi everyone,
I've been on here for a few weeks and look forward to continue learning from everyone.
I've been hooked on value investing for about 4 years now, but only recently have I really been putting in time to learn the ins and outs.
I started a blog to track my progress a few weeks back, feel free to stop by.

Thanks,

seems like whenever I go to NY or other cities, schedule is too tight to meet anyone. Will do better to contact others to meet up for a drink/coffee/dinner etc.

Thanks for joining Jay. On the opposite side of the country but our ideas are probably going to be the same, so I'm glad we're in this together.

Hello All,
I'm from the U.S. Brooklyn, NY to be exact. Here to share what I know and learn all I can from the fellow value investors here. By far the most senisble way to invest.
I've been at it for about 6 years. I traded options for a little while then I discovered value investing. I like to believe it "clicked" for me then.
Nice to meet you all!
Jay

Great to have you guys on here.
You are right that value investing is like going through rubbish to find the antique that got thrown out with it :)

Hi Jae and everybody
I live in Vancouver BC. Been @ investing for 5yrs without much profit (&felt newb paralyzed thru 2008-2009 which I now regret!)
So since I don't have tons of time I was lookin for a good tool for fast, solid fundamental analysis…and stumbled across Jae's site…bought the spreadsheet…and WOW!
Thanks Jae. I'm hoping to learn more and more here…and to find better stock deals, quicker!
P.S. here's a thought: isn't stock picking kinda like spending long hours digging through piles of great looking garbage to eventually find a rare antique that looks like garbage? (& then having the balls to buy it )

hi Jae jun – i registered a while back but have been busy with work and then school. I used to work in consulting but decided i wanted to transition into more investments type work so am back in school getting an MBA. Hopefully, i can leave here with a job in a more finance type field. While i have studied finance in school, i think value investing is pretty much a self-taught thing. Find it quite interesting how much academia just adheres to EMT. Invest for my own personal account which is quickly getting depleted as i pay tution but i quite enjoy value investing. Hopefully, i will have some more time to post going forward.

Hey Jason,
Welcome. We are all here to learn together. The forum isn't as active as I would like it to be but it is a good place for where I can jot down some ideas and comments quickly without having to spam everyones inbox.
As for the login issue, I get it myself. I have no idea what the bug is but to fix it just press CTRL+F5

Hi everybody,
I'm a university student in Toronto with an interest in equity investing.
I've realized that one of the most difficult parts about do-it-yourself investing is the actual search for a solid investment. By joining this forum I hope to learn more about the value investing approach as well as connect with other investors to increase my odds of finding a successful investment.
On a separate note, it seems when I venture into certain threads on this forum my status is changed to "logged off" and consequently I cannot post in those threads. This is happening for the CCME thread, for example. If I wanted to discuss this stock is there any other place in the forum where I can post (or perhaps this issue can be easily resolved)?
-Jason

Hi all,
I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am glad I stumbled on this site.
Although I have used excel for a while, it was all just the basic stuff.
I have been reading up on some Excel/Access books in the hope of setting up
a sytem / database of stock analysis.
Many years ago before internet becomes popular, I bought 2 books:
HyperProfit and The Investor's Equation
which I would like to test using Excel.
I am looking forward to Jae's new premium spreadsheet.
Is there a tentative target date for primetime, Jae?
I welcome anyone to network with me.
Sincerely,
Jesse

Hi all,
Since I am newer to the board I thought that I would take a quick minute to introduce myself. I am also from Canada. I live in the entral Alberta region. I haven't actually bought any stocks yet, but I am finding this whole value investing field fascinating. To me it really has been the only approach to stock market investing that makes sense. I just finished reading Joe Ponzio's book and it is definately been one of my favorites so far.
Jae, I love your spreadsheets and I am trying to understand them a bit better myself now. Thanks for all the work that goes into them.
Rocky

Greetings Old School Value Nation,
I am very impressed with the spreadsheets. If we encounter a potential error in the spreadsheets, how do we report our findings?
My apologies if this is not the appropriate forum to post this question.
Best Regards,
gurulands
