Which SMF add-in are you using?
Did you have it since last year?
If so, it's because the Advfn changed their website so you need to get the latest add-in for it to work.

I've tried a number of tickers, all of them large well know companies such as CAT, DE, VZ, GE, etc… No financials. The strange thing is that it appears to pull in the "shares outstanding" value, but nothing else. I don't know what else to try. I only get the "Calculating xx%" message the first time I refresh. When I try to run the spreadsheet on a second company, I don't get the message. Any suggestions?

What ticker are you trying? Because if you get "error" in the cells, it means that the values don't exist for that company. It may be because the website has not been updated or the data that the company provides is not in the appropriate format.
This is also true if you try to value financial companies. You will get "Error" all the time with financials.

Are your spreadsheets and/or the SMF Add-In compatible with Windows 7? I can't imagine that would cause a problem because I am running Exel 2007. I am having trouble getting the Net Net spreadsheet to work and Windows 7 has caused me some problems before. As far as I can tell, I have followed the installation instructions perfectly and worked through the trouble shooting documents as well. I get the "Calculating xx%" message, but still wind up with an error error. Any other suggestions?
