it really isn't hard. The only reason you get a #name? error is because excel does not recognize where the add-in is.
1. the location of the add-in is incorrect
2. excel still has the previous location stored in its memory which is why you must restart to flush all cache and ram memory.
Most people say they've restarted but dont actually restart the computer because they don't believe it has anything to do with it.
Send me some screenshots of a formula from the statements tab.
There is no reason why it shouldn't work. Just probably some very small detiail which may have been overlooked.

I guess I'm kind of in the same boat as obackus. The program works at my office. I have not installed the new add-in because I'm afraid to "fix" something that isn't broken. As to getting the program to work at home I've pretty much given up.

Great I'm glad it worked.
Excel is powerful but with all Microsoft products, usability and design wasn't well thought out most of the time. lol

You have to use the new add in that I sent out. The one that says 2.0k at the end of the zip file name. If you continue to use the old one it wont work.
Only the new one is able to pull the data.

Success…well partial anyway! Was able to get both 10yr and 5yr files to function, however am still getting "error" message when I "F9" the OSV Financial Statement. Have no idea why, but will continue to struggle with it.
"Charts" in 10yr and 5yr sheets do not come up properly….showing "value" errors
Thanks for your help, I think my hair will grow back!

no don't tear out your hair
I know exactly what issue you have.
You update the add-in in excel but then when you reopen the spreadsheet, it keeps reverting back to the program files directory right?
That's the excel cache issue.
What you have to do is before you uninstall the add-in, simply restart or log off and log back in. This will clear your temporary ram memory of all excel things.
NOW simply open excel, not the spreadsheet, then uncheck the add in and it will ask you whether you want to delete it. Press OK which now removes the add in from the list.
Then browse back to SMF, select the RCH stock market functions.xla file press ok.
Shut down excel completely and double click the spreadsheet to open. Try that.

I have done it over and over again…renistalled add-in, opened, closed etc. Still getting #NAME? or error message. As I mentioned before, I have used your spreadsheets before without problem. Here is where I stand:
Even though I have gone through the "Orb" and managed my add-ins, saved and closed excel,
upon reopening Excel still wants to find add-in in the old directory (Program Files\SMF Add-in), I am able to update my link to where the add-in is currently located: C:\SMF….the link status says "OK"
Press F9 and all values come up #NAME?.
I looked at Randy's solution…..replace all…that was no help.
I am tearing my hair out on this one, am in Seattle area, I could stop by your office if necesssary.

Did you re install the add-in from excel? You cant just move the files over to SMF. You also have to re install by going to the add-in menu and then browsing to SMF again.
Then close excel and reopen the spreadsheet.

Hi,
Bought updated spreadsheets, moved link out of "Program Files" to C:\SMF as directed, now all I get is #NAME?
Yahoo Add-in group gives same results….it used to work, what happened?
