Yes, it was much easier. I just double clicked on the .exe file and everything happened correctly without any other input from me. Just the way I like it! Short cuts on the desktop are a nice touch also.

Good to hear.
How did you find installer? Much easier with the shortcuts on the desktop as well right?
Next time when I send out updates, it will be with the installer so now that you have it installed, it will automatically detect everything and just load the updates without any fuss.
Nothing to worry about now I hope.

Thanks!
Old files deleted, New ones loaded, spreadsheet seems to be working well. Process was a little frustrating, but was tolerable due to your help. Thanks again!

try doing a search for "RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla" on your computer and delete all the folders and files associated with the SMF add in.
You must have a backup saved somewhere on your computer that you need to get rid of.
It's just to make the whole install a clean process, especially for first time users.

I've deleted everything I know to delete and the installation is still blocked, saying there are still smf files hiding somewhere. How do I find all these wandering files? What specifically do I search for so I can delete the SOB's?

I meant everything as in all the files that came with the download. Delete the spreadsheets, if you didn't make changes and don't mind using a fresh copy, delete the SMF add in and the folder.
Then install the file I sent you. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks, I hope it will work, but could you elaborate a bit on exactly what you mean by "delete EVERYTHING" !!! 8) on my computer.
I'm not so stupid as to realize you don't really mean it, but I can't read your mind and know exactly to what it is that I should limit my deleting.

sent you an email with a new file.
Delete everything you have on your computer and install the file I sent you.
Should make things easier now. I'll be sending all updates in the form of a .exe file installer from now on.

I just recently got around to updating the spreadsheets. Before I did, I could download data such as price, but every calculated field from "key statistics" on down on the summary page would show an error. After I updated the spreadsheet program, following your instructions explicitly, creating the SMF folder, unzipping the file into the c:smf with no other folder, etc., I can get NO information. Additionally, when I press F9 for the spreadsheet to download information, before I could tell it was downloading by it showing me the progress – it would usually take a few seconds to download. Now, it doesn't do anything visible or apparent.
I am using Vista, Excel 2007, and as I said before, I followed your manual's directions explicitly.
To put it briefly, it doesn't work. At all. I know you specifically said not to say that, but that is the best summary of the situation.
